Has anyone created an OpenID plugin?

by Aergonaut » Mon Jan 08, 2007 11:54 pm

Hey all.

I'm working on learning symfony by rebuilding my blog upon the framework. One feature I want to add is user authentication through OpenID. I was starting to work on building the authentication system myself, but then I decided that I should check to see if anyone else has developed anything similar.

So, has anyone developed a plugin to add OpenID-based authentication to symfony? If there's no separate plugin, has anyone implemented OpenID in one of their projects and has some tips/code to share?

I was also thinking that I might be able to modify the sfGuardPlugin to use OpenID authentication instead of basic passwords, but I'm not quite sure how to go about that. Any advice in that area would be nice too.

Thanks in advance!

Actually the project I mentioned ( uses BOTH openID and sfGuardPlugin, but they really should remain separate as they are logically separate items.

Basically if someone logs in via openID, it creates a record in the guard user table as if they were a normal user. - Rate what you just ate. - Open Source web consultant

LoginRadius Plugins provides OpenID plugins in which user can login through multiple OpenID providers. It also supports OAuth.
