How to enable cache for database translation (i18n)

by zaktrak » Mon Apr 23, 2012 9:07 pm

I have a multilingual symfony 1.0 site that is using database translation. Whenever I edit the target field in the database, the site translation updates instantly. I would like to cache the the translations, so it doesn't have to look through the database to find i18n strings on every page load.

I have this in my i18n.yml file:

i18n: on
default_culture: en
source: MySQL
database: mysql://path_to_database
debug: off
cache: on

but it is not being cached. Any ideas on how to cache the translations in hopes of speeding up the website?
