I always have problems using pear to install/upgrade symfony
The error:
Code: Select all
Failed to download symfony/symfony within preferred state "stable", latest release is version 0.5.220, stability "beta", use "channel://pear.symfony-project.com/symfony-0.5.220" to install
Cannot initialize 'symfony/symfony', invalid or missing package file
Package "symfony/symfony" is not valid
upgrade failed

Pardon me if I did any stupid thing. Can anyone guide me the way?

Thanks

xiblack,

sorry for the delayed answer.

you need to change your pear preferred-state to beta

you can do this with

`pear config-set preferred_state beta`

and

`pear config-show`

will show you your current settings,

Scott
