Packaging a Symfony app with vendors

by mjordan » Wed Feb 12, 2014 2:26 am

I'm writing my first Symfony app and really loving it. Looking forward a bit, I'd like some advice on packaging my app for distribution. I'm aware of http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/installation.html, and see the logic behind excluding 'vendors' and having developers run 'php composer.phar install'.

My question is, are there any best practices on packing an app into a zip file and bundling the vendors files? I know you can generate a zip from Github but local installers would still need to use composer to install the vendor libraries.

In other words, what's the best way to include vendor libraries with my app?

Thanks,

Mark
