Composer updated SYMFONY 2.4.5 to 2.5.0 instead of 2.4.6

by cipriano » Thu Jun 05, 2014 5:27 pm

I am using symfony2 with netbeans.
Today I used "composer" bundled with netbeans, in order to update my project from symfony version 2.4.5 to version 2.4.6; instead, it upgraded it to version 2.5.0 :?: ; is it normal? Does exist final documentation about the differences between these two major versions? Did composer updates all the bundles considering this major update?
Or should I restore my project from my last backup ? :(
Thank you to clearify this point.

EDIT: that happened because the COMPOSER.JSON has the "symfony" field with value "~2.4" instead of "2.4.*". Still the question sussists, because I would like to know if the update was full, with all new parts fully upgraded and if final documentation exists about the differences between 2.4 and 2.5.

Ok, I have found the link to the upgrade notes from 2.4 to 2.5: https://github.com/symfony/symfony/blob/master/UPGRADE-2.5.md.
So it is ok to upgrade 2.4 to 2.5 and I will do asap.
Great job as usual mates, live long and prosper.

You need to check the your configuration file composer.json, you probably have specifing that you want the latest version of symfony.

in the UPGRADE-2.5.md you can read all the changes:
