Cannot get homepage when setting up a new application

I'm brand new to Symfony so I may misunderstand some basics. Anyway, here is my issue :

I followed the first steps in the book (2.7)

Code: Select all
$ sudo curl -LsS -o /usr/local/bin/symfony
$ sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/bin/symfony

$ cd /var/www/html
$ symfony new _suivi

Then I launched the php built-in server, listening to my server lan interface ( rather than localhost (I cannot browse locally)
Code: Select all
$ php -S app/console server:run

When I browse to I get only this line (likely a script header) though the book writes I should have a nice welcome page :
Code: Select all
#!/usr/bin/env php

And I get some help line from the console :
Code: Select all
$ php -S app/console server:run
PHP 5.6.7 Development Server started at Wed Jun 10 14:19:26 2015
Listening on
Document root is /var/www/html/_suivi
Press Ctrl-C to quit.
Symfony version 2.7.0 - app/dev/debug

  command [options] [arguments]

  -h, --help               Display this help message
  -q, --quiet              Do not output any message
  -V, --version            Display this application version
      --ansi               Force ANSI output
      --no-ansi            Disable ANSI output
  -n, --no-interaction     Do not ask any interactive question
  -s, --shell              Launch the shell.
      --process-isolation  Launch commands from shell as a separate process.

I checked app/logs and apps/cache permissions. Both were 777.

I cannot figure out what I've badly done.

My server is running CentOS6 with apache 2.2.14 (listening on port 80) and php 5.6.7
