“buffer” class between generated Base classes and orm-Record

by q-styler » Sat Nov 20, 2010 7:11 pm

Hi!
I think that it's gonna be really useful if auto-generated classes (like JobeetJob) wouldn't inherit sfDoctrineRecord directly, but through a buffer, like “JobeetBuffer”.
It could be used for common methods and properties that will be available in model classes and without any modifications in core-classes.
Same with table classes.

But it would be great if it was possible to define multiple "buffer" classes and define somehow which base classes inherit from which buffer class.

I asume by the tone of this thread that it's not currently possible.

Right?

I don't know if this is whan you where looking for, but in propel it's possible to do it using something like "baseClass: yourBaseClassForThisTable" in the "_attributes" field. (schema.yml)
