Discussion around this tutorial for symfony 1.0.x

Hi all

Nice to see an active forum here for this askeet project

I have just started looking at php frameworks and I think symfony is the ideal one for me once I get through these tutorials,

I am struggling with Askeet in as much as I do not really understand SVN so I have a few probably dumb questions for you

1. Can I complete the askeet project without even bothering with svn, if not

2. As a windows user the tutorial day one, page recommends using tortoise SVN which I have duly downloaded and installed but I have no idea how to use it in relation to this project, do I use it via the symfony cli and if so how

Apologies for the daft questions but I really would like to crack on with askeet and use what I learn to apply to my website

Thanks in advance

I am not a Tortoise expert, but from memory do a checkout on a particular day, eg from here:

http://svn.askeet.com/tags/release_day_24/

You can see the available tags here:

http://svn.askeet.com/tags/

Also remember that Askeet is a 1.0 tutorial, so this will use symfony 1.0, not symfony 1.1. If you want to play with 1.1 features then have a look at My First Project, which is nearly finished (and demonstrates some good 1.1 things).
