Would you attend a symfony training course in the UK?

That's a good point. I've been lobbying my employer to switch to 1.3 for a while, and they've only just relented.

I wonder then whether we it would be preferable to use 1.0 helpers on 1.3, rather than go to the effort of learning 1.3/1.4 techniques that will be outdated (but not out of support) when 2.0 at the end of this year?

On a related note, I should be pleased to attend where the tutor is from abroad (Jon Wage, or one of the Sensio chaps from France) but wonder if the cost would be lower if a "home grown" ~ ~ tutor could be found?

This thread is not really current anymore and I don't think we are moving any closer to a UK training course.
I'm not really in a position time wise to offer any currently but would always keep it in mind for the future.

Are there any UK based partners that are interested?

In terms of course material, would you prefer something that covers the Symfony2 architecture and usage in an overview sort of way?
Or would you prefer a more direct project (like a lightweight Jobeet for example) that covers what it can but would essentially leave some things out?

Tricky one, as both have their advantages, however on balance I think I'd rather do a real world project that will cover all the things I'll be doing on 90% of the sites I build, rather than spend time looking at features I'll likely never need - I can research those later on if/when I need them and have a better grasp of S2.

Yeah, I'd fall down the side of a walk through project that covers most of the common aspects of creating a basic site from scratch through to release as well.

I feel coverage of the 'this is how you start' AND the 'this is how you tie the ends up' sides of practical work is probably more beneficial than a coverage of individual components of the framework. The middle bit, once a bit of experience is had can be worked out laterally
