Unrecognized options "error_handler"

Postby RobMasters » Sat May 07, 2011 7:31 pm

Hi, I'm completely new to Symfony (with the exception of using a couple of components in the past) and thought I'd try setting up a symfony2 project (beta 1) on my local machine (OSX). However, I seem to be stuck on the error I've put in the title: Unrecognized options "error_handler". This occurred when I was running bin/vendors.sh. Here is the output I was given before it failed:

Code: Select all
> Installing/Updating  WebConfiguratorBundle
Cloning into WebConfiguratorBundle...
remote: Counting objects: 197, done.
remote: Compressing objects: 100% (193/193), done.
remote: Total 197 (delta 98), reused 0 (delta 0)
Receiving objects: 100% (197/197), 33.13 KiB, done.
Resolving deltas: 100% (98/98), done.
HEAD is now at 3c272a6 added missing files

  Unrecognized options "error_handler" under "framework"

I don't really know what I'm looking for, but as far as I can tell the error_handler section of my config.yml looks ok:

Code: Select all
    secret:        %secret%
    charset:       UTF-8
    error_handler: null
        enabled: true
    router:        { resource: "%kernel.root_dir%/config/routing.yml" }
    validation:    { enabled: true, annotations: true }
    templating:    { engines: ['twig'] } #assets_version: SomeVersionScheme
        default_locale: %locale%
        lifetime:       3600
        auto_start:     true

This error is preventing me doing anything at the moment, so I'd really appreciate some help. Let me know if I need to provide any further information. Thanks.

Have you tried removing the following?
Code: Select all
    error_handler: null

Have you tried using the standard edition which includes the vendors ? http://symfony.com/download?v=Symfony_Standard_Vendors_2.0.0BETA1.tgz

Thank you both for your response. No I hadn't tried removing that...as I said I'm very new to the framework so I'm not comfortable deleting things from a core config file when I don't know where they are used. As it turns out, deleting it seems to be working so far so I'll go with that for now. :)

No I haven't tried the version with vendors yet either. The instructions said that it was recommended to download the version without vendors if you have git installed, so I did. Is there any real difference between the two?
