upgrading?

At home, I've been using the 2.0.12 version... But at work, the previous developer somehow upgraded to the 2.1.0-DEV version which i've used to learn on...

Being that I am starting a new project of my own, I'd like to upgrade to the 2.1 version, but I can't for the life of me find any relevant information on exactly how I do so? I know it's not stable yet, but i know (at least with the version we've been using at work), that with regular calls to composer.phar self-update and composer.phar update, that things stay fairly updated... but, how do I upgrade it is the question?

Until it's stable you probably have to check the 2.1 changelog for relevant changes.

I would also like to know how this is done.

I want to use some features which are only available in 2.1. So unless i update to 2.1, i cannot continue with my project. I tried updating to 2.1 this entire afternoon, but i can't get it to work.

I have already upgraded two applications (developed year ago) from 2.0 to dev 2.1 - its doable
Only upgrading forms can be problematic
2.1 is very stable but there some sometimes bugs commited to master repo which are fixed pretty fast tho
