perimissions on app/cache

Postby msalsas » Mon Aug 19, 2013 1:20 pm

Hello, I've setup the app/cache/ directory permissions to 0775 (files to 664). And owner to root:www-data.
This works, but when I clear cache, it turns the permissions to 0755 (files to 644) and owner to root:root.
How I do to setup properly? And is it a secured setup? Thank you

An other related topic could be: Is there really a relevant difference between putting app/cache directories and files to www-data user or group owner, and giving writting permissions to www-data user using setfacl? I know the real differrence (the owner with setfacl won't change), but don't know if it is a safer way. Thanks

I cant open app_dev.php and app.php file, other pages, like config.php I can access,
btw on this site is writing "Your configuration looks good to run Symfony".

During my instalation i followed Symfony instruction, and I do everything except server premission. First of all,I'm using Windows, and sorry for being so stupid, but I dont know where i need to input "rm -rf app/cache/*"

I try input that into cmd, while i'm located in xampp\htdocs\Symfony, but I always getting errors like "rm is not recognized as an internal or external command..."

btw i put this C:\xampp\php;C:\xampp\mysql\bin in Path

I don't know how to do it with Windows, but surely rm will not work. If you have a grafical interface, you can try to change owner to www-data, and mod to 755 (on app/cache directory propieties and all files and folders inside).

I can't use ACL, so I've tried to add umask(0000) to the app/console and web/app.php in the VPS, but the permissions of app/cache are turned again to 0755 when I clear cache. Any idea of what can be happening?
