restore and old web

Hi everybody, here is my problem. I have to restore and old web that I haven´t done, it was made using symfony (in 2006), I have all the files, and the database sql. I´m trying to make it works using wamp on a XP computer. I have replicated the database and create the user and passwords, I have checked all the config files, but it still not working. here are my questions:

Do I need something else to restore the web? Is it suposed I need to initialize something?

Do you know where I can find documents about restoring project made by symfony 1.0?

I´m going to update the project to 1.4 but first of all I need to know the project works on its first version.

Best approach is to look for PHP errors in your Apache log files, or see if anything is getting into the symfony log files?
