frontend_dev.php --> Class 'Doctrine_Manager' not found

Hi all,
I try to install Symfony (and before Apache, MySQL,..), but get the above error. Although I searched extensively in Google and this forum, I can't figure it out by more own.
I was able to install Symfony and it runs now on http://localhost:8080,
but when I call http://localhost:8080/frontend_dev.php
I get
Fatal error: Class 'Doctrine_Manager' not found in [...] sfDoctrinePluginConfiguration.class.php on line 65

Can anybody help me, as I am totally new to it?
