What happens to sfLucene?

Hi there!

Please someone explain to me - what happens to sfLucene and other search plugins for sf 1.1? Why they don't work?

1. sfSphinxPlugin - "First of all, you should setup Sphinx on your machine." - but what if I can't? sfSphinxPlugin is useless for me, so forget about it...

2. sfLucenePlugin - after downloading, when I'm trying to initialize: "getRouting() on a non-object in... config.php". If it's for sf 1.1 why the routing isn't compatible? How i can get this stuff working?

3. sfSearchPlugin - This is real mystery! Can anyone attempted to install it and configure like "the book" says? Try to check out the http://svn.symfony-project.com/plugins/sfPropelSearchPlugin/ trunk/propel - no way! sfPropelSearchPlugin does not exist...

So what I should do? Is there any working search plugin for symfony 1.1?

sfLucene Not supported for 1.1. sfSearch is the way to go, but its still alpha (search the forums, this type of post keeps appearing)

Although I just searched the plugins for sfSearch and thats not there any more...

Sorry, Im not sure what the best way to do Search in 1.1 is - other than rolling your own..

Just a thought - where people face this problem, they could always have their search page on a subdomain, and run the search system in symfony 1.0. This idea is probably not suitable for everyone, especially if the search is tightly integrated with the rest of the app, but in most cases it should be worth consideration. Models should be shareable with symlinks across projects.
